Operating policies

Editorial, corrections, and privacy rules for the Why It Trends public pilot.

Editorial principles

  • Search interest is a signal for finding candidates, not evidence that a claim is true.
  • Material claims are checked against primary sources such as official statements and original documents whenever possible.
  • Facts and interpretation are separated. Unverified privacy, crime, health, finance, and military topics are excluded from the initial publishing scope.
  • AI may assist the workflow, but a person remains responsible for source checks, final wording, and publication approval.

Corrections and updates

When a published fact changes, we update the article and its checked time. Material changes are recorded in the article's correction history. Content with a serious error or potential rights violation is taken down first and reviewed before republication.

Privacy and measurement

The public pilot has no accounts, comments, contact forms, or advertising. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, referrer host, country, device, browser, operating system, and page-performance signals. The analytics configuration does not use analytics cookies, local storage, or cross-site visitor profiles. Cloudflare may also process network and security logs while hosting and protecting the site.

Operating reports must not retain full query strings or intentionally collect personal information. Advertising or any additional measurement service requires a separate policy and consent review before activation.

Pilot status

This policy covers the public pilot. Operator details, a contact channel, request handling, and applicable legal review will be added before advertising is enabled. Please do not submit personal information through the site.
